What actually happens

How a session goes

Nobody is put on the spot and nothing is rushed. The pace is set by whoever needs the most time, which on a first workshop is usually everybody.

01

Sit down, cord ready

Your station is already set up when you arrive — yarn or cord, hook or needle, scissors and a printed guide. Nothing to buy or bring.

02

The first stitch or knot

Every workshop starts with the one or two moves the whole piece is built from. We practise them slowly on a scrap before they go into the real piece.

03

Build your piece

You choose the colour and, where the project allows, the details. Mariale moves around the table so no one gets stuck on a row for twenty minutes.

04

Finish, photograph, take home

We finish the last row together, take a photo of the group and their pieces, and you walk out with something you made and the guide to make the next one.

No surprises

What’s included, and what isn’t

Included in the price

  • All yarn, cord, hoops, bases and hardware for your project
  • Scissors, measuring tape and combs to use during the session
  • A printed guide you keep, so you can repeat it at home — plus the hook or punch needle where it is part of the kit
  • Hands-on help from Mariale for the whole session
  • Tea, coffee and something small to eat
  • The finished piece — it is yours, not a display sample

Not included

  • Parking — we send directions and the nearest lots with your confirmation
  • Extra cord if you want to make a second, larger piece on the spot
  • Shipping, if you would rather we send the finished piece to you
  • Travel outside the studio for private groups — a flat fee within Miami-Dade, quoted with your session

Booking a gift for someone else?

Workshop seats work well as gifts and we can send a printable card with the date left open, so the person chooses when to come. Message us on WhatsApp and we will set it up in a few minutes.

Who teaches

You will be learning from Mariale

I have been knotting and crocheting for long enough to have made every mistake a beginner can make, which turns out to be the most useful thing a teacher can bring to a table. I know exactly where people get stuck, because I got stuck there first.

Workshops run bilingually — I teach in Spanish and in English, and in Miami both usually happen in the same room at the same time. If your group prefers one language only, just say so when you book.

Workshop questions

Do I need any experience to join a workshop?

No. Four of the five workshops assume you have never held a hook or a cord before, and we start from the very first stitch or knot. The only exception is the macramé beach chair, which asks for some previous macramé experience — the macramé headband is the natural first step towards it.

Are materials included in the price?

Yes. Every workshop includes all materials, the tools you use during the session and a printed guide you keep. Where a hook or punch needle is part of the kit, it goes home with you too — there is nothing to buy beforehand and nothing to bring except yourself.

How many people are in each workshop?

Open workshops run with 6 to 12 people, which is the largest group one person can genuinely help; the beach chair workshop is capped at 6. Private sessions run from 6 to 25 people; above 15 we bring an assistant so the ratio stays workable.

What happens if I can’t attend after booking?

More than 72 hours before the session we move you to any future date at no cost. Inside 72 hours you can send someone in your place, or your payment becomes a studio credit valid for a year that you can spend on a workshop or on anything in the shop. Full terms in booking, changes and refunds.

Do you run workshops in Spanish?

Yes. Mariale teaches in Spanish and in English, and most in-studio sessions in Miami run bilingually. Private groups can request a session entirely in one language, and the printed guides are written in both.

Can I book a private workshop outside Miami?

For groups of 12 or more we travel within Florida, and further afield when travel is covered. For anywhere else we can run the headband or punch needle sessions live online and ship a kit to each participant ahead of time, so everyone is working with the same materials.

Is there an age limit?

Children from about 10 can do the headband and punch needle workshops comfortably with an adult in the room. Below that the knots are usually more frustrating than fun. For family or kids’ groups we run a shorter, simpler project — ask us and we will put it together.

Before you pay

Booking, changes and refunds

Every workshop is a small group. The moment you book, we buy your materials and stop selling that seat — so here is exactly what happens if your plans change. The same rules apply to everyone.

More than 7 days before

Move to any future workshop date at no cost. Message us on WhatsApp at 786-501-1185 and tell us which date you want.

Between 7 days and 72 hours before

Still a free move to any future date. If none of the open dates work for you, your payment becomes a studio credit valid for one year — spend it on a workshop or on anything in the shop.

Inside 72 hours, or if you do not make it

Send someone in your place: just tell us their name before the session. Otherwise your payment becomes a studio credit valid for one year. By then your materials are cut and prepared and the seat can no longer be filled, so the payment itself is not returned.

If we cancel

If a workshop does not reach its minimum group, or something happens on our side, we tell you on WhatsApp at least 48 hours ahead and you choose: a full refund to your card, or a seat on the next date.

Arriving late

We start on time. Come in late and we will catch you up, but the session ends at the scheduled hour for everyone.

Language

Workshops are taught in Spanish with simultaneous English translation, and the printed guides are written in both languages.
